During my recent visit to Florida I spent the majority of my time exploring the state’s many beautiful white sand beaches in search of crystal clear water. Fortunately, Florida doesn’t disappoint when it comes to clear water beaches.

No matter which part of Florida you plan to visit for your next beach vacation, you’ll find many great options to visit Florida beaches with clear water.

In addition to visiting all those beaches, be sure to enjoy the nearby cities in Florida as well when you need a break from the water. You’ll find plenty of other fun activities and some fantastic restaurants, especially in Miami.

In this article I’m sharing 32 of the best beaches in Florida with clear water.

Since the state of Florida is literally lined with clear water beaches I’ve broken this list of 32 Florida Beaches with Clear Water into four different sections:

  • Emerald Coast: The Emerald Coast is located in the Florida panhandle and includes Pensacola, Destin, Fort Walton, and Panama City Beach. Here you’ll find pristine white sand beaches, rolling sand dunes, and some of the best beaches with clear water in Florida.
  • Gulf Coast: The Gulf Coast beaches include the remaining beaches of Florida’s Gulf Coast all the way down to The Keys. Gulf Coast beaches are known for their peaceful crystal clear waters and soft white sand.
  • The Florida Keys: The Florida Keys are located at the southernmost tip off the Florida peninsula and consist of a string of islands about 120 miles off the coast. The Keys are known for their beautiful blue hued clear waters, and are a great destination for snorkeling, diving, boating, and fishing.
  • Atlantic Coast: The Atlantic Coast beaches start just north of The Keys and run all along the east coast of Florida up to the Georgia state line. The Atlantic beaches are known for their stunning aqua water ocean views and incredible sunrises.

The Emerald Coast of Florida stretches about 100 miles along Florida’s northern Gulf Coast panhandle region. It’s also home to some of the prettiest beaches in the state with amazingly clear water.

Let’s explore.

1. Pensacola Beach

Pensacola Beach is located on the westernmost tip of Florida’s Panhandle and makes a perfect spot for a beach day during your Florida vacation.

One of the best things about Pensacola Beach is its stunningly beautiful emerald green waters. This is also a very wide white sand beach, so there’s plenty of room to spread out. They also have a cute water tower painted to look like a beach ball.

Swimming, snorkeling, and paddle boarding are all popular activities here, so make sure you set aside plenty of time to take advantage of this gorgeous setting. The water temperature is usually around 80°F year round, so it’s always a great time for a dip.

Pensacola Beach is also home to several nature reserves where visitors can explore wildlife habitats and observe native species like sea turtles, dolphins, and bald eagles.

These preserves provide amazing opportunities to learn more about these animals while also enjoying some of the most spectacular scenery in the area.

With its shallow crystal clear waters and beautiful landscapes, it’s no surprise that people flock to Crab Island for some great paddling experiences.

3. Destin

Destin is one of the top clear blue water beaches in Florida. From its sparkling white sand beaches to its delicious seafood restaurants, this vibrant coastal town has something for everyone.

Let’s start with the obvious, the beach. With its nearly 24 miles of crystal-clear waters and powdery white sand beaches, it’s easy to see why Destin is known as “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.”

Take a dip in the ocean or have a picnic on the shore; whatever your pleasure, you won’t be disappointed by what Destin has to offer.

Go parasailing or jet skiing if you want a little more adventure. You can also rent a kayak and explore the coastline at your own pace.

Destin also has other unique activities such as sandcastle lessons and S’mores on the beach.

If you’re looking for time out of the water the city is also known for fishing and golfing. You can also enjoy a walk along the Destin Harbor Boardwalk.

When it comes time for dinner, there are plenty of delicious dining options in town. Enjoy fresh seafood dishes from local eateries or grab some takeout from an outdoor food stand. The Back Porch and Boshamps Seafood and Oyster House are both popular options.

4. Henderson Beach State Park

We know Florida is known for its stunning beaches, and Henderson Beach State Park is no exception.

Located in Destin, this pristine park boasts a half-mile of beachfront access with plenty of activities to keep visitors busy. Whether you’re looking to relax on white sand beaches or explore nature trails, there’s plenty to do at Henderson Beach State Park.

Henderson Beach State Park offers an array of beach activities for visitors who want to enjoy the sun and sand. Take a dip in the warm Gulf waters, lounge around on the beach, or explore the 30 foot sand dunes.

Miramar Beach is know as a white sand paradise with plenty of room along its two-mile stretch of shoreline for visitors to spread out and soak up some sun.

Activities at Miramar Beach include swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding and kayaking.

Since the Gulf of Mexico is home to a wide variety of fish species, fishing, snorkeling and diving are also a great way to explore the local waters.

Grab your fishing rod and head out on one of the many charter boats available in nearby Destin. Charters can provide everything you need for a successful day on the water.

6. Rosemary Beach

Beaches in Rosemary are not public, so you’ll need to have accommodations booked here to access the beaches. However, if you prefer a quieter, more peaceful beach experience, Rosemary is a great option.

Rosemary Beach is a also great place to explore nature, whether it’s biking along one of the many trails or simply taking a leisurely stroll along the shoreline.

The town is also near several parks, including Eden Gardens State Park, which features lush gardens and an old-fashioned plantation house.

Rosemary Beach is full of delicious restaurants that offer cuisine ranging from seafood to Mexican fare. Some local favorites include La Crema Tapas & Chocolate Bar and Cowgirl Kitchen, which serves up gourmet burgers and fries.

Panama City Beach is home to approximately 27 miles of clear blue water beaches and is one of the state’s most popular beach destinations.

For a beach day, Shell Island Beach is one of the most popular spots in Panama City Beach. It’s an uninhabited barrier island making it a great spot for a day trip.

Whether you want to swim in the crystal clear waters or lay out on the beach and work on your tan, Shell Island is sure to be a highlight of your trip. Just make sure to layer on your sunscreen.

Diving enthusiasts will love exploring Panama City Beach’s varied and diverse marine life below the surface. The area features dozens of shipwrecks dating back as far as 1560 when Spanish explorer Tristán de Luna sailed his ships through here.

No trip to Honeymoon Island would be complete without spending some time relaxing on its beautiful white-sand beaches.

Whether you want to take a leisurely stroll along the coastline or just sit back and soak up some sun, this beach has something for everyone. Those looking for a bit more adventure can try kayaking or paddle boarding.

If you love swimming and snorkeling, you’ll find the warm Gulf Coast waters are ideal and filled with coral reefs teeming with colorful fish. If that wasn’t enough to tempt you into taking a dip in the ocean, there is also an underwater park where visitors can explore shipwrecks from centuries ago.

Honeymoon Island State Park is also home to a variety of birds and other wildlife, making it a great spot for bird watching and nature photography.

If you don’t have your own snorkel gear, there are plenty of rental options available onsite that also offer paddle boards and other water sport equipment.

Whether you prefer leisurely strolls or intense hikes, there are trails for every level at Caladesi Island State Park. After sunset, the pier is one of the best places to watch the sky light up with vibrant colors as the sun sets over the horizon.

When it comes to attractions, there’s no shortage of things to do around Clearwater Beach. From watching dolphins play in their natural habitat at Dolphin Quest, to exploring unique marine life at the Florida Aquarium, there are tons of ways to have fun and learn about our underwater friends.

Bahia Honda offers visitors a chance to experience nature at its finest with its white sand beaches and breathtaking ocean views.

At this state park, there are loads of things for visitors to do. The calm waters make it perfect for paddle boarding or kayaking, and there are plenty of trails for hikers and bikers alike.

23. Key West

Key West is a small island off the coast of Florida, but it has plenty of activities and adventures waiting for visitors. From world-famous restaurants to beautiful beaches, there’s something for everyone in Key West.

The most popular beaches in Key West are Smathers Beach, Higgs Beach and the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park.

Smathers Beach is two miles long and offers plenty of room for everyone to spread out. It features volleyball courts and water sports rentals if you’d like to enjoy activities besides swimming. Smathers Beach is also home to some of the clearest water in the Florida Keys.

Higgs Beach is one of the more secluded beaches in Key West, located at the end of South Roosevelt Boulevard, so it’s not as heavily crowded as other areas of Key West.

Higgs Beach is perfect if you’re looking for some peace and quiet after exploring all that Key West has to offer.

Fort Zachary Taylor State Park is one of Florida’s best-preserved historic sites and nature preserves. This park offers visitors access to beaches with crystal clear waters where they can sunbathe or go snorkeling around coral reefs teeming with wildlife.

There are also trails that wind through lush tropical forests where you can spot birds, butterflies, lizards, frogs, and more. For those who like an extra dose of history with their nature walks, there are fortifications from the Civil War era which you can explore as well.

The park also consists of four different habitats including mangrove forests, tropical hardwood hammocks, Keys marsh and grassy flats. Each habitat plays an important role in supporting the diverse array of flora and fauna that inhabit the area.

The waters around Biscayne are teeming with wildlife including sea turtles and dolphins.

If you’re looking for a place to relax and soak up some sun, Miami Beach is an ideal spot. Its stunning white sand beaches are perfect for a day spent lounging and swimming in the crystal blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

You can enjoy activities such as snorkeling, fishing, or even surfing with lessons available at many resorts.

When night falls, experience all that Miami has to offer, from upscale nightclubs to five-star restaurants, there is something for everyone here.
