This article intends to identify the weakest currencies in the world in 2023. This article is for information purposes only.

As a travel blogger, and thus frequent traveler, I compiled this list out of curiosity mostly. The majority of us are already familiar with the strongest currencies in the world including the United States Dollar, the Euro, and the Kuwaiti Dinar, etc.

However, many of us don’t often consider the world’s cheapest currency. I wondered what those lowest value currencies were, and in which country I could fine them. So I did a little research and came up with this list of the cheapest currency in the world.

According to the United Nations, there are a total of 180 currencies in the world.

Currently, the lowest currency is the world is the Iranian Rial (IRR). 42,155.49 IRR is equal to $1.00 USD.

If you’re curious, the highest currency in the world is the Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD). 1 KWD is equal to $3.30 USD.

Down below is a list of the lowest currency in the world from the very lowest to the 10th lowest. I also include the three letter currency code for each respective currency.
