These travel essentials for women are perfect for just about anyone planning a trip in the near future.
As a travel blogger for the past six years, I’ve put together this list of women’s travel essentials based on my own experience. I’ve included only items I personally recommend and travel with.

Travel Essentials for Women
These 10 travel essentials for women are intended to help you plan ahead for your next trip.
What you pack can seriously impact your vacation, so these are my tried and true favorites that I always have with me, no matter the destination.
I hope you find something here to make your future trips even better.
1. Sunglasses
I literally never leave home without my sunglasses and they are a must have travel essential for me.
I am a fan of the Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses. They’re a timeless classic and look good on most people. I have mine in multiple colors and I always bring more than one pair with me while traveling.
If you travel often enough, you will eventually lose or break your sunglasses while on a trip. I’ve unfortunately done this more times that I care to remember, but I always replace lost Ray-Bans with new Ray-Bans.
You can find Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses here.
2. Luggage
It’s important to have stylish luggage while traveling. Having an old suitcase that grandma used to use is going to make you stand out at the airport, and not in a good way.
I personally use Away luggage. I like their minimalist style and many color options. I also like that they have so many styles and sizes that I can mix and match.
If you’re looking for something similar but a little less expensive, I recommend this luggage on Amazon.
3. Headphones
I use the Beats wireless headphones pictured above and this is the exact pair I have. My mom bought me these for Christmas last year and I love them.
The sound from these is excellent and they fold up for easy packing in your carry on bag.
They are noise cancelling as well, which is great for drowning out the airplane noise on long flights.
4. Packing Cubes
Packing cubes help me keep my luggage organized so I can easily find what I’m looking for. I use packing cubes for all of my trips over three days in length.
Packing cubes are inexpensive and can help you fit more into your suitcase when traveling for longer periods of time.
At the end of my trip, I also use my packing cubs to separate my dirty clothes from the clean clothes. They help keep things fresher for longer.
5. Portable Charger
If you’re like me and tend to be away from your hotel room the majority of the day when traveling, I recommend picking up a portable charger to carry with you.
I use the Mophie Powerstation and find that it can fully recharge my iPhone in under an hour. This is especially helpful on a long flight or when I’m out taking pictures all day.
The Mophie Powerstation is lightweight and fits easily in my day bag or purse while out exploring a new city.
6. International Power Adapter
If traveling overseas you’ll need to have an international power adapter with you to charge your phone and other devices. I personally use this one and this one.
I always bring more than one with me when traveling abroad. This way I can use or charge more than one item at a time.
Also, these adapters are frequently left behind in hotel rooms, so be sure to always double check your room before checking out. But if you do leave one behind, you’ll always have another if you bring more than one.
7. Refillable Travel Containers
Refillable travel containers are pretty much mandatory for travel these days.
I like these refillable containers because they’re easy to clean and refill between trips. They are also large enough to hold enough liquid for longer trips, which is convenient.
For ladies who travel with lots of different products, I recommend getting more than one set with different colors to differentiate the products.
8. Basic black leggings
I think one of the ultimate women’s travel essentials is a pair of basic black leggings.
I quite literally live in Lululemons these days, so bringing them along on trips is a necessity.
I like the basic black full length due to their versatility. These can be worn for many occasions in a variety of ways. I most often pair mine with an oversized top for the plane, especially on long haul flights.
These can also be dressed up with a nice blouse, jacket and flats. You can of course, also wear them for yoga, hiking, or any other physical activity.
9. Comfortable Walking Shoes
I always wear comfortable sneakers when I’m traveling due to how much walking I do on vacation.
I rotate between several pairs of sneakers, but the Veja sneakers are my current favorites. I usually purchase white since the look is classic, but occasionally bring other colors as well.
You can purchase the Veja sneakers here.
10. Tripod
This is the cellphone tripod I have used for the past few years. It’s compact, lightweight and fits easily in my day bag.
I love that this opens up quickly and is sturdy enough to be carried around across the planet. I will say I did break this once while traveling in Puerto Rico, but replaced it right away with the exact same one.
If you like to get nice photos or videos of yourself when traveling, this is the tripod I always recommend.
