Grateful for all the places I got to visit this year and all the special moments with friends and loved ones.

Like many others, I experienced lots of highs and a few very painful lows.

I’m looking forward to 2024 and all that brings.

I’m spending New Year’s Eve reflecting on this past year and making some choices and decisions about what’s next. I’ll be sharing my goals and ambitions for 2024 tomorrow.

One of my most treasured travel moments of 2023. 🐧

Cape Town, South Africa was at the top of my travel bucket list for years. If I’m honest, it was mostly because I wanted to see the Penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach. So getting to see these guys live and in person was incredibly special to me.

As a major bonus, Cape Town is an incredible city packed with unique things to see and do. I could easily spend a month there and not get to everything.

Convict Lake sits on the eastern side of the Sierras just south of Mammoth Lakes, California.

While this whole region is incredibly scenic year round, Convict Lake was stunning in the late spring.

I’ve been thinking a lot this month about how I want to approach social media next year as a blogger and content creator.

These last few years (probably longer) our attention has increasingly become a commodity that is being bought and sold. That attention is our time, which we all know is a limited resource and certainly our most valuable.

While I enjoy being on Instagram for the community, I’ve decided to let Facebook, Threads, and TikTok go and will not be joining any new platforms in 2024.

I haven’t figured out a specific strategy for Instagram yet, but I plan to continue posting here regularly. I’ll also be posting monthly on YouTube.

There’s just something about Europe in winter. ⛄️

Despite the occasional ice cold temperatures, visiting Europe in winter is one of my favorite things.

Lighter crowds and lower prices are always a bonus of traveling this time of year. But the real magic is having moments to yourself in remarkable places.

My thoughts after a week inTallinn. 👇

First, just wow. What a city.

As one of the best preserved Medieval cities in Europe, Tallinn is aesthetically fun. I loved walking around the Old Town and seeing all the old Medieval walls and architecture.

There’s also visual layers to the city. You can see the physical remnants and influence of the Medieval times, the Soviet era, and the modern era. Tallinn has a fascinating history.

The locals are also incredibly kind. I never got the sense that tourists aren’t welcome here. In fact, it’s been just the opposite. I felt welcome everywhere I went. There’s a genuine warmth to the people here.

I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to visit Tallinn, and I hope you get to visit sometime too.
